Commissioning a Portrait: 

Julia Ince has completed more than 100 commissioned oil painting portraits, most of them for clients in the greater Chicago and Milwaukee areas.  Above is a gallery of some of her portraits.  A portrait in oils takes of minimum of two months to complete, however there is usually a waiting list of individuals seeking to commission portraits from Julia, thus the completion times vary according to her schedule.  To best capture the individuality of the subject portrayed, Julia prefers to take the necessary photographs in person.  She will travel to locations within 100 miles of Chicago or Milwaukee at no extra charge to photograph the subject as well as to deliver the completed portrait in person.  The approximate cost of commissioning a portrait is indicated below.  Specific requests, such as particular background details, will cost more.  The cost of the portrait is based on the subject matter and not the size of the final painting.  Most of Julia's portraits are completed in sizes ranging from 20"x24" to 30"x40".  Individuals residing beyond the 100 mile radius of Chicago or Milwaukee will be charged additional travel fees.  The commission begins with a non-refundable down payment of one-quarter of the total cost of the portrait.  The down payment will be applied to the final payment.  The final payment is due upon delivery of the portrait.
